Sebaceous cysts can grow anywhere on the skin. They won't go away if only the contents are squeezed out.

A sebaceous cyst is a lump under the skin that can grow anywhere, most often on the face, back, neck and scalp.

It can contain fluid, oil, fat, keratin, or pus if it becomes infected.

Why it needs proper removal

A sebaceous cyst has to be removed together with the sac around it. If only the contents are squeezed out, it grows back. The procedure can be done at the clinic under local anaesthetic.
